PRIORITIES
INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
Republican Bill Hearn has been instrumental in pushing our county to do a better job building infrastructure in response to growth. Thanks to his leadership, these are some of the projects getting done:

The Orangeburg Loop project is the county’s #1 priority upon passage of the 2022 roads referendum (more than half of the referendum money is committed to relieving traffic for District 6 residents)
-
Helped save the Town of Summerville $11 million by using road referendum money to pay for the N. Maple Street extension project currently under construction
-
Made traffic and drainage improvements, including the Butternut roundabout, a new bridge for Rumphs Hill Creek, and improvements along Platt Branch
PRESERVING OUR QUALITY OF LIFE
Republican Bill Hearn has consistently championed our community’s quality of life and heritage. He recognizes the need to slow down rapid development and invest in our infrastructure and schools.
Some of the initiatives include:
-
Pushed to preserve the historical elements of 500 N. Main Street, the installation of a new civic park, and additional improvements aimed at historic preservation
-
Opposes the recently proposed development along the Pine Forest Country Club golf course
-
Successfully fought against additional commercialization of properties in our residential neighborhoods and held developers accountable for their promises made to neighborhoods.
CHAMPIONING OUR CHILDREN & SENIORS
Republican Bill Hearn is a steadfast champion for our community’s children and seniors, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all ages. Under his leadership, we’ve seen him champion opening two senior centers, investments in new parks and libraries, and acquiring open space to protect the land from development and preserve it forever.
